Open Question: another question on cooking....?

i found two books on amazon that im thinking of buying. im a beginner to cooking and i need help with which book i should buy to learn everything...im toatally clueless 1) " i dont know how to cookbook" by Lane Kamburg 2) Betty Crocker's cooking basics " learning to cook with confidence" if you read any of these let me know hwo good they were or if you have any book suggestions to books to teach a beginner let me know! thanks
